Com 28 anos, Burkard se estabeleceu como um nome reconhecido da fotografia no surf e esportes ao ar livre, equiparando-se com fotógrafos profissionais onde seu trabalho tem sido reconhecida continuamente por suas composições distintas e criativas. Atualmente, Burkard atua como fotógrafo sênior para Surfer Magazine.
